Marie Zemanov\u00e1 graduated from the Technical University of Liberec in Textile and Fashion Design and later from the Fashion Design studio at Tomas Bata University in Zl\u00edn. Her studies in Liberec gave her a strong foundation in textile technologies, garment construction, and pattern design. In Zl\u00edn, her approach expanded to include conceptual thinking, an authorial voice, and interdisciplinary overlap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the techniques she has long devoted herself to is hand weaving on a frame \u2013 today a rather rare discipline. Tapestry weaving belongs to the traditional textile crafts that have gradually been giving way to faster technologies in the modern era. Yet for her, weaving holds special significance. It is a process that demands absolute focus, patience, and time. It is not only about the visual result but also about a way of working that combines craftsmanship, visual composition, and a quiet inner process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marie describes weaving on a frame as \u201cpainting with weft.\u201d Using weft threads, she creates pictorial tapestries, often landscapes and memories. Each format becomes a space where time slows down and something very precise and sensitive takes place. Her tapestries are not illustrations but statements \u2013 in their rhythm, structure, and material they carry a personal imprint and a contemporary reflection on what it means to create slowly in a fast-paced world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her clothing design is built on the solid foundations of traditional textile techniques such as hand embroidery, knitting, and crochet, which she combines with an individual approach to garment construction and material selection. This is not mass-produced fashion or fast fashion but slow, focused creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her garments are not intended primarily for mass consumption or ostentation. They are meant for people who perceive fabric and clothing as a means of communication and self-expression. Some pieces reveal an effort toward deeper meaning \u2013 a gentle disruption of stereotypes, a questioning of conventional notions of the body or beauty, or a conscious play with the contrast between outward appearance and inner feeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
