KLÁRA ŽIDKOVÁ

Klára Židková studied philosophy and journalism, but for many years has been working as an independent fashion designer. Her passion for working with textiles began in childhood. In her creations, she prefers to start from the very foundations of fashion – craftsmanship and material. Wool, cotton, linen, and silk undergo hours of traditional tailoring techniques before they are transformed into original made-to-measure or ready-to-wear pieces.

Her design naturally brings together opposites – wild colors with monochrome, minimalism with boldness, discipline with punk, introversion with extroversion. A deeply personal aspect of her work is upcycling and the use of waste and deadstock materials. Her goal is to create garments that are distinctive and bold yet wearable and relatable – pieces that, over time, become a long-term companion and a place of comfort.

Alongside traditional craft techniques, she is also interested in new technologies such as 3D garment simulation. Last year, during a two-month residency at Accademia Costume e Moda in Milan, she critically explored how artificial intelligence can be incorporated into the creative process, culminating in a multimedia installation.

At Má vlast Edit, you can look forward to new and past one-of-a-kind pieces that bid farewell to summer and welcome autumn – linen coats, bamboo dresses, upcycled corsets, and much more.
