Under the MIK brand, designer Jana Mikešová has been creating since her studies at UMPRUM, where she began working with knitting. Wool and its creative possibilities inspired her so much that she decided to turn it into wearable pieces, making it one of the main pillars of her fashion label.
MIK is characterized by minimalist cuts with interesting details and solutions that carry Jana’s distinctive signature. The collections are designed to be versatile and combinable across seasons, resulting in an endless range of individual garments that blend and complement each other. All offered pieces are made from entirely natural materials from trusted suppliers, including wool, merino, alpaca, linen, and silk, as well as deadstock fabrics in limited quantities from premium brands, giving them a second life. Production is purely local, carried out by small knitting workshops and ateliers in Bohemia and Moravia.
At the Má vlast, MIK will present the first pieces for the autumn/winter 2025 season, continuing the core motifs and details of the latest spring collection. The key feature will be a carefully developed series of sweaters and coats, long among the brand’s most distinctive and recognizable pieces. Selected materials will include a rich range of textures such as waxed cotton with its characteristic patina and alpaca yarns with a pronounced halo.
Another innovation is the use of laminated leather, which brings a completely new material contrast to the collection. The glossy surface of the handbags creates a striking dialogue with the predominantly matte textures of the garments, generating both tension and harmony – one of the key principles of the entire collection. The handbags are not just functional accessories but an integral part of the collection concept.
